CLAY’S REDEMPTION is few weeks away from completion and in talks with UK Distributors
Innovative Brit filmmaker duo TIN COWBOYS are currently in post production on their debut feature CLAY’S REDEMPTION: a John Carpenter style action flick about an emissary of Greek Gods stalked by a demon through a modern day metroplex.
CLAY is part action thriller, part neon-soaked fever dream, set in an asphalt jungle populated by hyper-real characters.
CLAY is part action thriller, part neon-soaked fever dream, set in an asphalt jungle populated by hyper-real characters. Director and co-writer Carlos Boellinger (originally from Venezuela) cites bringing them to life as a key reason for making the film: “They rise in your mind from a mess of Bladerunner, Twilight Zone, graphic novel, badass action flicks.. all these things we grew up with in the 80s.. and rattle the cage till we set em free. So that’s what we did.”
Clay is played by veteran Japanese-American actor Akie Kotabe
Clay (a ‘sleeve-walker’) is played by veteran Japanese-American actor Akie Kotabe (Everly, Man in the High Castle). Against him are: soft-spoken villain and martial artist Johnson played by Joe Wredden (bringing real life sword fighting skills to the screen); demon-in-designer-leathers Learza played by Swedish actress Magdalena Sverlander (last seen leading scandi-thriller ‘Kroongetuige’/’The Crown Witness’ and soon to be seen in the new Jason Bourne spin off TV series ‘Treadstone’ (USA Network/Amazon Prime).
The characters’ look and wardrobe were almost entirely designed by creative producer Rona Walter
The characters’ look and wardrobe were almost entirely designed by creative producer Rona Walter (of Serenity Film), which included a collaboration with bleeding edge urban designer label Charli Cohen. Tin Cowboys also collaborate with rising star pop singer NUUXS, in her acting debut as ‘Maya.’ Cast also include: Elsa Nori, Patrick Carroll Jr., and Daniel Stisen.
Producer and co-writer Ivo Alexander credits portable technology as key to the production’s speed and versatility: “we shot the whole thing on location using low key, two tone lighting and cameras which excel in lowlight conditions.”
