Synopsis: LONG LOST stars Adam Weppler (The Cobblestone Corridor) as Seth, a young man invited to spend a weekend at the Connecticut mansion of his long lost millionaire half-brother Richard (Nicholas Tucci, You’re Next). LONG LOST writer/director Erik Bloomquist's comments:
LONG LOST draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of character-driven chamber thrillers both past and present. Equal parts pulpy erotic throwback and contemporary puzzle film. I wanted to craft a story that, at is core, was a meditation on loneliness and the roles that we find ourselves playing in every part of our lives. The idea that “who we are” can change instantaneously based solely on who is in the room.
In order to accomplish this, from the outset, we wanted our location in Long Lost to become a fourth player in the increasingly strange goings-on. An estate both claustrophobic and boundless. Like the hotel in The Shining or Oscar Isaac’s sprawling property in Ex Machina.
I hope that, like our protagonist, audiences are consistently caught in an uncanny paralysis as they work to decipher intent, rationale, and reality - all the while deriving some twisted little pleasures from the movie's pitch black eccentricities.
