THE DEVIL OUTSIDE "a coming of age film about religion, madness and repressed sexuality."
Andrew Hulme, writer/director of THE DEVIL OUTSIDE, talks with BritFlicks Podcast host Stuart Wright, about his "coming of age film about religion, madness and repressed sexuality."
Synopsis: Robert is an innocent teenager, living a sheltered life in a Born Again Christian family with an insular world view dictated by his evangelising Mother. He lives in a fantasy world that soon changes when he starts school. Exposed to science and secularism he starts to realise the world is not what he’d previously thought. When Marcus, a devilish newcomer at his church, then befriends him Robert finds himself being led down a much darker path.
Struggling with the fundamentals of his faith Robert discovers a dead body in the woods and believes he’s had a sign from God.
THE DEVIL OUTSIDE is a coming of age story of everyday madness.
THE DEVIL OUTSIDE is released on Digital April 2019.
THE DEVIL OUTSIDE is Andrew Hulme second film, his debut feature was Snow in Paradise (Un Certain Regarde, 2014)
