SOUTH LONDON’S FINEST is available on Facebook, Instagram TV and YouTube courtesy of Loft Films.
A new web series set at a traditional British curry house in South London. Two waiters, Samir and Roshan see themselves as ambitious businessmen but all this does is land them into trouble as they cut every corner and come up with increasingly unusual schemes to become international entrepreneurs.
They are also surrounded by a cast of colourful characters who are also all dreamers and schemers, from the restaurant and in their local area. They pop in and out of stories throughout the series with their own motives and desires. Wildcard Rod is the eccentric and substance fuelled chef at the restaurant. Faye and Vicky are the female equivalent of the boys and get into as much trouble as them as they try to kickstart their careers in entertainment. Big Keith is a feared local villain who is trying to give up his life of crime whilst still actively engaging in it.
Support diverse and independent comedy. A new contemporary comedy show featuring a cast and crew of emerging, culturally diverse artists including some of which have been plucked from workshops at the famous Anna Scher Theatre School in Islington. This is a very modern British show.
"South London’s Finest" is a hilarious, intensely emotional, and funny comedy about two friends who are very different and the very local world they inhabit in South London. Episodes will revolve around recognisable situations and how the characters deal with them in their own unique ways. Like a cross between classic British comedy’s such as Only Fools and Horses or Steptoe and Son with a more the more modern outlook of shows like Louie, Master of None and Atlanta.
Webisode 1 is a Christmas Special. Big Keith, the local villan is demanding a refund for his takeaway Tandoori Turkey when Chef Rod comes in with a problem of his own.
More webisodes will be released throughout 2019 across all social media platforms with a strong backing on Facebook, Instagram TV and Youtube. The aim is to develop the show and eventually gain enough of a following to produce a full television series. There is a great cast and crew of creatives attached and committed to the project for the long haul.
