Following its premiere at the BFI London Film Festival SOMETIMES ALWAYS NEVER will be released in 2019.
Hurricane Films and Goldfinch Studios, along with distribution partner The Movie Partnership, have released the trailer and images for Carl Hunter’s heartfelt comedy drama SOMETIMES ALWAYS NEVER. Starring Bill Nighy, Sam Riley, Alice Lowe, Jenny Agutter, Tim McInnerny and Alexei Sayle, SOMETIMES ALWAYS NEVER is a stylish British film about a scrabble obsessed tailor searching for his lost son.
SOMETIMES ALWAYS NEVER celebrated its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on the 12th October, and has a further screening on the 21st October 2018.
Synopsis: Sharp of suit and vocabulary, Bill Nighy plays deadpan Scrabble-obsessed Merseyside tailor Alan, whose eldest son Michael stormed out of the house after a particularly heated round of the popular board game, never to return. Years later, Alan and his other son Peter (Sam Riley) continue the search while trying to repair their own strained relationship. Sometimes Always Never (which describes the way to button up a gentleman's suit jacket) comes from a witty and astute script by acclaimed screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce (24 Hour Party People), debut feature director Carl Hunter deploys a vivid visual style and striking production design to capture the shifting moods of a family who know plenty of words but struggle to communicate.
The soundtrack to SOMETIMES ALWAYS NEVER has been composed by world-renowned Scottish artist Edwyn Collins, including two brand new tracks created for the film.
