Uncork’d Entertainment is gearing up to release the highly anticipated horror-thriller 'WOMB,' directed by Bridget Smith (The Retaliators), on Digital and On Demand starting 11 February 2025. Inspired by true events, 'WOMB' dives deep into a terrifying and rarely explored topic: the chilling reality of fetal abduction.
Synopsis: The film follows Hailey, a 22-year-old woman who is pregnant, beautiful, and recovering from addiction. Seeking tranquility, she ventures to a remote cabin to bond with her soon-to-be sister-in-law. However, what begins as a serene getaway soon transforms into a nightmare as Hailey becomes the target of a deranged hunter obsessed with stealing her full-term fetus.
'WOMB' delivers a gripping and emotional exploration of this horrific crime. Featuring a standout performance by Taylor Hanks ('The Giant'), the cast also includes Myles Clohessy ('FBI: Most Wanted') and Ellen Adair ('Law and Order').
Director Bridget Smith shared her inspiration for the film:
“The first documented case of fetal abduction happened in my hometown of Philadelphia in 1974. The terror of it has stayed with me ever since I heard that story,” says Smith. “When Mike Walsh shared the script with me, I knew it would make a disturbing and powerful movie. Although this crime is rarely covered in the news, fetal abduction has happened continually over the years with alarming regularity.”
'WOMB' will be available On Digital and On Demand from February 11, 2025, courtesy of Uncork’d Entertainment.
