Inspired by the real-life story of Peg Entwistle, an aspiring actress who tragically jumped from the Hollywood sign in 1932, 'THE HAUNTING OF HOLLYWOOD' follows James as he navigates the highs and lows of Los Angeles alongside his best friend and girlfriend. His journey through the city’s glitzy exterior uncovers the painful memories of his mother’s own tragic history, driving him to confront the ghosts of his past.
The film, directed by Lilia Doytchinova, a USC film graduate from Eastern Europe, captures a raw, realistic view of Hollywood, with scenes shot at dawn beneath the Hollywood sign and at a snow-covered Lake Arrowhead during the pandemic lockdown. This unique backdrop contributes to the film’s atmosphere, adding authenticity to the portrayal of Hollywood’s complex allure.
Already recognized in the festival circuit, 'THE HAUNTING OF HOLLYWOOD' has won Best Thriller at the 2024 Golden State and Silicon Beach Film Festivals, with additional wins for Best Director at the Halicarnassus Film Festival and nominations for Best Music and Best Editing at the Top Indie Film Awards.
