Fans of mockumentary horror and 90s nostalgia are in for a treat as 'HAUNTED ULSTER LIVE', the spine-chilling film by Dominic O’Neill, hits digital platforms in the UK and Ireland from 14 October.
Set on Halloween night 1998, the film follows Northern Ireland TV veteran Gerry Burns and rising children’s presenter Michelle Kelly as they investigate reports of poltergeist activity in a Belfast home. What begins as a light-hearted regional TV special quickly turns into a terrifying ordeal when an unseen force reveals itself live on air.
'HAUNTED ULSTER LIVE' blends found footage horror with local folklore, evoking the look and feel of 90s regional TV shows. The film also mirrors the tense atmosphere of Belfast during the Northern Ireland Troubles, using horror as a metaphor for the unseen forces that haunted everyday life in the city at the time.
Written and directed by Dominic O’Neill, the film made its world premiere at FrightFest 2023, followed by a successful Irish premiere at the Belfast Film Festival. It has since garnered praise at international genre festivals such as Fantaspoa and Panic Fest, where it was celebrated for its nostalgic recreation of 90s TV, combined with a chilling supernatural narrative.
'HAUNTED ULSTER LIVE' is available to stream across UK and Ireland digital platforms from 14 October, just in time for the Halloween season. With a runtime of 78 minutes, the film promises a gripping experience for fans of supernatural horror and found footage films.
