'HARDER THAN THE ROCK' is a documentary that honors the legacy of the Cimarons, showcasing their influence on Black British youth and the broader music landscape. Despite their significant contributions to reggae, the band's story has largely gone untold—until now. The film also touches on their final chapter, following the loss of their drummer Maurice Ellis, as the band dreams of one last live performance.
The film had its world premiere at the Sheffield DocFest in June, where it was met with enthusiastic applause. Hosted by filmmaker and DJ Don Letts, the premiere emphasized the importance of the Cimarons' story in the context of British music history.
