The work-in-progress (WIP) of '1978' made its world premiere at the prestigious Marché du Film during the Cannes Film Festival's Blood Window Showcase. This marks a significant milestone for the film, which is set to kick off its international festival circuit in October, with major announcements on the horizon.
Synopsis: Set against the backdrop of the 1978 World Cup final between Argentina and Holland, during a period of military dictatorship, '1978' tells a harrowing tale of terror and the supernatural. A group of torturers violently invades a home, kidnapping several young people to a clandestine detention center. What begins as a brutal interrogation quickly spirals into a nightmare beyond comprehension when the torturers realize they have captured members of a sinister cult guided by an unknown supernatural force. The detention center soon becomes a living hell as the lines between captors and captives blur, leading to a fight for survival against otherworldly horrors.
