This chilling feature marks the directorial debut of Hayden Hewitt, known for his previous work on 'Lips and Unseen'.
In 'CARA', Elle O'Hara, star of Memories of Another and When Darkness Falls, takes on the titular role of Cara, a young woman plagued by a traumatic past and desperate to avoid being sent back to a psychiatric hospital where she endured unspeakable abuse. The film's ensemble cast also includes notable names such as James Dreyfus (House of the Dragon, Notting Hill), Laurence R. Harvey (The Human Centipede 2, Mannequin), Michaela Longden (Book of Monsters, Coronation Street), Julie Hannan (Supernova, Shetland), and Johnny Vivash (How to Kill Monsters, Walking Against the Rain).
The film delves into Cara's deteriorating reality as she grapples with a failed career as an online sex worker, a mentally unstable roommate, and her strained relationship with her parents. With her father unable to communicate and her mother's support falling short, Cara becomes obsessed with a conspiracy theory that threatens to send her back to the hellish institution. Determined to avoid this fate, she hatches a shocking plan with the help of a submissive client—leading to a cascade of brutal and bloody consequences.
