Dark Star Pictures has announced the upcoming release of 'WINEVILLE,' a 70s-inspired horror film marking the directorial debut of Brande Roderick, known for her role on "Baywatch." 'WINEVILLE' will be released in select theaters on September 6, 2024, followed by VOD, Digital, and Physical Media on September 10, 2024.
Set in the 1970s, 'WINEVILLE' follows a woman returning to her family vineyard after her abusive father’s death, only to find that the dark secrets she left behind have taken a deadly turn. The film draws inspiration from horror classics like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Last House on the Left, and was shot at the historic Galleano Winery.
The cast includes Carolyn Hennesy, Texas Battle, and Casey King. The film also references the true crime case of the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders, adding an extra layer of horror to the story.
