'SOMETHING DIVINE', the documentary directed by Thomas Essig, has been named an official selection at the Lonely Seal Film Festival. The film will be screened on August 21, 2024, during the "Midweek Music Movies and More" event in Arlington, MA.
The documentary follows Ray Cappo, the lead singer of the straight edge hardcore band Youth of Today, who left the music scene to pursue a spiritual journey in India. Now known as Monk Raghunath, Cappo guides viewers through a pilgrimage across India's holy cities, exploring the intersection of hardcore punk and spirituality.
Featuring appearances by Moby, John "Porcell" Porcelly, and other notable figures, 'SOMETHING DIVINE' has already garnered several awards, including the Award of Excellence at the Impact Doc Awards and the New Filmmaker Award at the World Music and International Film Festival.
The film is set to debut on streaming platforms in late 2024.
