THE DIVE will screen at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest 24 August, ahead of its 25 August UK Cinema Release.
Outline: The conditions were ideal for a dive—a day of crystal-clear visibility, stable weather, and an extraordinary, secluded location. Drew and May, sisters with a deep and intricate bond, felt their excitement soar as they marveled at the unexplored wonders beneath the water's surface. Their awe, however, was abruptly shattered when May was unexpectedly struck by a rock, causing her goggles to fly off and leaving her shaken, yet with only a minor scratch.
But their relief was short-lived, for the source of the projectile became evident: a landslide from the towering cliffs above. In an instant, a deluge of rocks tumbled into the ocean, engulfing the surroundings. May, unfortunate victim of the rockfall, was ensnared by the debris, unable to break free in the depths below. As oxygen levels plummeted perilously and the frigid temperatures added to her plight, May's life hung in the balance. It fell upon Drew to wage a desperate battle for her sister's survival.
Time raced against them as Drew, driven by sheer panic, sought aid in the desolate landscape above water. Meanwhile, May, trapped on the ocean floor, grappled with her own psychological turmoil, confronting the devastating reality of her predicament. Despite Drew's resourcefulness and unwavering strength, she found herself faced with an agonizing choice—risk her own life to save her sister or accept the heart-wrenching consequences.
Directed by Maximilian Erlenwein, THE DIVE stars Sophie Lowe & Louisa Krause.
