THE WIFE AND HER HOUSE HUSBAND will also be screening at the Mocking Bird Cinema, Birmingham and the Orpheus Cinema, Bristol.
As their contentious divorce nears its end, Cassie (Laura Bayston) and Matthew (Laurence Spellman) receive a surprise reminder from their past - a letter they wrote to each other as young lovers, containing instructions for a potential future separation. The letter encourages them to create meaningful experiences that will allow them to part ways with love and not bitterness. Despite his initial reluctance, Matthew agrees to complete the first item on the list - revisiting the park where they first fell in love two decades ago. This simple act sparks a flood of memories and emotions, leading the couple to confront the challenges of their past and the person each has become in their marriage.
Over the course of four intense days, Cassie and Matthew struggle to reconcile their lingering feelings with the reality of their situation. As they reconnect, they must grapple with the question of whether they can truly move on from their painful past and build a future together.
This is the second feature film by director Marcus Markou, following the highly successful 'Papadopoulos & Sons' (2012). It's solid piece, with Laura Bayston once again confirming what a fantastic actress she is!
