Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson's faultles Icelandic drama BEAUTIFUL BEINGS, will be released in the UK on Digital Platforms 30th January 2023.
Balli (Áskell Einar Pálmason), the poor, smelly, bullied kid of the class is befriended by Addi (Birgir Dagur Bjarkason) and his gang of unruly misfits, who clean him up and accept him into their click. Here the gang learn of the trauma Balli suffers at the hands of his addict mother and abusive stepfather, making him the weak, timid boy he is.
Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson’s film is faultless, beautifully portraying the realism of the harshness and brutality that can on go behind closed curtains and doors. The cinematography (Sturla Brandth Grøvlen) and grading are stunning, and the cast are perfection.
A wonderful film, and 5 Stars all day long!
