Veteran UK actor Billy Murray is set to return to the big screen in James Crow’s British gangster film NEMESIS.
Billy Murray has appeared in some classic crime films over the years including Performance (1970), McVicar (1980), Essex Boys (2000), Rollin' with the Nines (2006), Rise of the Footsoldier (2007), The Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan (2012), We Still Steal the Old Way (2016) and Rise of the Footsoldier 3: The Pat Tate Story (2017). Gamers will also know him for the voice of Captain Price in the Call of Duty video game franchise.
In NEMESIS, Murray plays John Morgan, an underworld kingpin whose return to London triggers a cataclysm of violence, retribution and murder.
Joining the cast alongside Murray will be Jeanine Nerissa, playing his wife Sadie and Ambra Moore, (granddaughter of Sir Roger Moore) making her screen debut as his daughter Kate. Other familiar faces in the NEMESIS cast include Nick Moran (Lock, Stock), Nick Nevern (Rise of the Footsoldier 4), George Russo (Villian) and Johnny Palmiero (Rise of the Footsoldier 2).
NEMESIS is written by Adam Stephen Kelly who also serves as co-producer, directed by James Crow and produced by Jonathan Sothcott. Filming begins Spring 2020.
NEMESIS is the first movie from new London-based indie production startup Shogun Films, which has an ambitious slate for 2020/21 including revenge thriller Renegades, '80s action movie pastiche Assault on Hazard Rock, bare knuckle fighting biopic Pretty Boy, and siege thriller Man of War. There is also a feature documentary to be announced soon.
Director James Crow commented: “I’m incredibly excited to be directing Billy Murray – he is one of the true icons of British film and television. Nemesis is a dark, violent, gritty British crime film. If you liked Vendetta and Piggy, this will be right up your street. We are assembling a heavyweight cast to ensure we do the material justice”.
