Synopsis: Amongst the 2011 London riots, a former boxer, Stally, must choose between his lower class past plagued by crime or a new future in a middle class society that he doesn’t fit into. Will he choose to go back into his life of crime and save the life of his best friend? Or will he choose to step forwards to be with the love of this life, Mermaid and his more comfortable and alien life?
THE LONDON RIOTS - A BACKGROUND: Between 6 and 11 August 2011, thousands of people rioted in several London boroughs and in cities and towns across England. The resulting chaos generated looting, arson, and mass deployment of police and resulted in the death of five people. Disturbances began on 6 August after a protest in Tottenham, London, following the death of Mark Duggan, a local man who was shot dead by police on 4 August. Attributions for the rioters' behaviour include structural factors such as racism, classism, and economic decline, as well as cultural factors like criminality, hooliganism, breakdown of social morality, and gang culture.
Marcus Flemmings “I’ve never wanted to make a straightforward council Estate/Gangster film. SIX ROUNDS hopefully doesn’t act as one.”
SIX ROUNDS is written/directed by Marcul Flemmings and stars Adam J Bernard, Phoebe Torrance, Santino Zicchi, Daniel Jones, Rob Peacock, Chris Rochester, Thomasin Lockwood, Carolyn English, Joseph Warner, Lesley Molony & Karishma Bhandari.
SIX ROUNDS will be released this Spring on flixpremiere.com
